New Mexico

I chose New Mexico because of the great food there, and because of the fact that 40% of the habitants speaks Spanish.

History

The name New Mexico came from a seeker of gold mines named Fransisco De Ibarra who explored the

North Mexico and reported that his findings was found in "a New Mexico".
New Mexico was ones owned by Spaine, so 40% of the people in New Mexico speak spanish. But before the spanish came, 25 million mexicans lived in New Mexico. Many thousands were massacred by the Spanish, but most fell victim to European diseases which they had no medicine for.
In 1912 New Mexico bacame an American state.

Population
The total population of New Mexico was 2,059,179 in 2010.
46,3% of these people are hispanics or latino. So that means that New Mexico is the state
with the most hispanics in the USA. Which I think is prety awesome...(But Im tired so dont listen to me.)

Climate
In New Mexico they have a lot of mountains and deserts.
The summers in New Mexico are hot (I think it is!), the temperature can get up to 38 degrees. The highest temperature recorded in New Mexico was 50 degrees. Which is extremely hot!

Geography

The New Mexican landscape ranges from wide, deserts to high, snowfull mountains. Despite New Mexico's arid image, there is a lot of  forest, especially towards the north. The southern part of Rocky Mountains are in New Mexico actually. Rocky Mountains are a major mountain range (I think most of you knew that. If not, you should be really ashamed! Or you would not, because of your none weirdness...) New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah come together at the Four corners in the northwestern corner of New Mexico

Shes in four states at the same time!

Santa Fe
Im really, really tired right now. So I have to do this quick before I pass out
or something...  Santa Fe is the capital of New Mexico. The city's full name when founded was "La Villa Real de la Santa Fé de San Francisco de Asís" ("The Royal Town of the Holy Faith of St. Francis of Assisi"). Long name isnt it? The city and the surrounding areas have a high concentration of artists. They have come over the decades to capture on canvas and in other media the natural beauty of the landscape, the flora and the fauna. Canyon Road, east of the Plaza, has the highest concentration of art galleries in the city.

That was all I had to say. I hope you learned something from this text, if not I have to apologize. I had way to much homework and way to little time...
